Vibeark — Account Deletion Policy

This policy explains how to delete your Vibeark account and what happens to your data. It is part of our Terms of Use and works with the Privacy Policy.

1. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account by:

using the delete-account option in your account settings within the Service; or
emailing vibearkin@gmail.com from your registered email address requesting deletion.

We may verify your identity (for example, via your registered email/OTP) before processing the request.

2. What Happens When You Delete

2.1 Your profile becomes inaccessible and your username may be released and reclaimable by others (see Section 2 of the Terms of Use).

2.2 We delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except for data we are permitted or required to retain (Section 3).

2.3 Backups. Residual copies may remain in backups until they are rotated out, within up to 30 days.

2.4 Messages. Messages you sent may remain visible to the other participant in their own chat history and are retained/deleted according to the Privacy Policy retention table.

3. Data We May Retain After Deletion

Even after deletion, we may retain certain information where necessary to:

comply with law or a legal/court order;
preserve evidence or respond to a lawful request (see the Law Enforcement Request Policy);
prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents, including enforcing bans against users who try to evade them;
resolve disputes or enforce our Agreement.

Such retained data is limited to what is necessary and is deleted when no longer needed.

4. Banned Accounts

If your account was permanently banned, we may retain associated records (such as identifiers used to detect ban evasion and abuse reports) for Up to 24 months to keep the community safe. Deleting a banned account does not lift the ban.

5. Inactive Accounts

We may deactivate or delete accounts inactive for 24 months and release their usernames, after reasonable notice where practicable. See Section 10 of the Terms of Use.

6. Reactivation

Account deletion is intended to be permanent. Once your account and data are deleted, they generally cannot be restored, and you would need to register again to use Vibeark.
